So now that I have made the final decision to go to Cameroon, the process of preparing for it is about to begin. The biggest hurdle, or rather the biggest step, is going to to be getting a visa. Since there isn’t any Cameroon”ian” embassy here in the UAE I have to try and figure out how to apply and get my visa. Although I don’t want to, I will most likely have to send my passport to the embassy in the US.

The next step is getting my shots. It’s been one of the things that I’ve neglected, getting immunized for all the different locations that I’ve been to. Normally, I have this, “I don’t think it will be a problem” kind of attitude towards much of the suggestions about getting immunized, but in this situation I don’t have a choice. There are certain requirements to entering Cameroon that I have to take care of. The most important is Yellow Fever inoculations. I figure since I’m going to be getting that one, I’ll probably do all of them.

Then comes getting some of the more basic things done, like planning what I’m going to be doing afterwards. Do I go back to the states, stay in Africa, or head home… maybe do a second trip to India. I’ve been having a hard time making up my mind, but I’m going to have to make a decision very soon. Right now, I’m leaning towards staying in Africa for at least a couple more weeks, and then heading to Dubai.

I have to say that I really like that my biggest problems are whether I’m going to go to Morocco, South Africa, or Kenya, and after that am I going to be going to Dubai or the US. Nice problems to have. :)
